It was time to leave Federico and his lovely little villa to make the four hour trip to Rome. Two hours down and we found a beautiful harbour just a few miles from Orbetello Island. Have I been holidaying in the wrong place?! It wasn't long before we were back on the road and arriving in Roma!!

Viareggio Beach - Italian Adventures Part 2
The second largest city in the provence of Lucca is Viareggio. A 2km stretch of shops backs onto the white sands with amazing brands, dining and gelato (of course). The centre of Viareggio is a large pine forest, perfect for young children with lots of outdoor activities. We hired some bikes and soaked up the sun. And although we couldn't see for sun beds… it was the perfect day.

Villa Chelucci - Italian Adventure Part 1
High up in the beautiful Tuscan mountains… somewhere above Massarosa is the little village of Gualdo. My home for the first 7 days in Italy. After diving up the narrow, winding cliff edge, feeling slightly car sick, wondering if I would make it alive… the view was incredible from the top.
The villa itself was pretty much as authentic as it gets…with our bedroom window over looking the prettiest hinterland. The owner of the property, Federico also owns a small 'risorante' next door. This super sweet, super cute and super authentic restaurant meant we could eat all the pizza and pasta we wanted while watching the sun go down… feeling like we were on top of the world.
The village is here on HomeAway.
